Location: Aurora, CO
Building people who build great things.
Contract Value: $17M

Project Description

New addition of four wide body gates to the West end of the existing concourse B.

Installed systems and equipment included heating and chilled water systems to support six custom air handlers, custom make-up air units, in line fans, centrifugal up-blast fans, VAVs, fan coil units, unit heaters, CRAC units, primary heating water pumps, heat exchangers, air curtains, infa-red heaters, sound attenuator, and 2000′ of snow melt.

This project presented some challenging logistics.  Crews and materials crossed live taxiways to access the project site.

The gate expansion project adds 39 new gates, an increase in gate capacity of 30%

The new gates will be added on all three concourse A, B & C to allow all airlines an opportunity to grow. The airport will also be able to accommodate new airlines, including international carriers. The four gates on Concourse B West were the first to open by August 2020, with the rest of the gates opening 2021. When complete, all three concourses will feature amenities, including an opportunity for passengers to step outside at DIA’s post-security outdoor patios complete with a pet relief area, outdoor bars fire pits and heated concrete for snow melt and added comfort during the winter months.

Seeding future opportunities with lasting results.
