The facility serves as a hub for collaborative research teams including scientists from PNNL, industry, and partners at institutions such as University of Washington and Washington State University.

Apollo’s full mechanical design assist scope included BIM/CAD lead, HVAC, plumbing and controls.   In total, 665 pieces of equipment were installed, including 2 chillers, 3 cooling towers, 3 boilers, 86 FCUs, 72 reheat coils, 222 Phoenix air valves, 6 AHUs and 6 MAUs.   Copper, Stainless, Carbon, Cast, PP Fusion, Thermacor and Orion were among the 25 different types of piping systems installed.  The HVAC system included 60″ welded stainless lab exhaust.
