Nespelem School District

The Nespelem School District’s Mission Statement is, “The staff at Nespelem School will enable a student to become a thinking, caring, productive person using high standards in a positive environment

Apollo Solutions Group is poised to ensure that this mission of a positive environment is a focal point – by providing energy upgrades throughout the district and utilizing the Department of Enterprise Service’s Energy Program.

This Apollo Solutions Group project includes a complete upgrade to the electrical distribution panel and main electrical switchboard. Install a new roof-top mounted Temtrol AHU with fan wall technology along with hot water and chilled water coils.  Retrofit current condensing unit with 50-ton York air-cooled scroll chiller. Retro-Commissioning of existing systems so new mechanical systems will operate properly and efficiently. Replace all T12 and T8 linear fluorescent lamps and ballast with new LED lighting fixtures. Replace all windows with new LowE Energy Efficient windows, and energy efficient doors. Replace the existing walk-in kitchen with a new energy efficient and properly sized refrigeration system. Remove and replace the sections of corroded drainage pipe by the kitchen bathroom. Replace existing bathroom system with modern ADA compliant equipment and materials.

“We received approximately $3 million dollars to address facility improvements/upgrades. Apollo’s team was easy to work with and very professional. They met regularly with school staff. Apollo periodically set aside time to meet with the school board to conduct walk-throughs and make progress reports. Apollo produced quality work, adhered to project timelines, and stayed with in the budget. Frequent communication helped to build and maintain a high level of trust.

I would work with Apollo Solutions again if there were other grants. I have referred Apollo Solutions to other school districts in our area.”

-Mary S. Hall, Ed. D., Nespelem SD Superintendent

During the construction phase of this project the school district had an emergency project come up that required the floor of the boiler room in the Astor-Panorama Building be replaced and structural supports installed. The existing pan deck had failed and the concrete floor was flexing due to the weight of the Cast-Iron Sectional Boiler that was in the boiler room. The school district saw this as an opportunity to use Apollo to put in a new pan deck and structural steel, and a new floor while retrofitting the boiler with the same kind of premium efficiency condensing hot water boilers and pumping system that were installed at Fort Colville Elementary School.
