Chelan County Justice Center

The Chelan County regional justice center which was originally built in 1998.

Operating as a 50 bed facility was renovated into a 275 bed jail facility that also houses the Sheriff’s office, Chelan County Courthouse, and administration. The phasing of the air handling unit replacement included a temporary air handling unit on the exterior of the building to ensure no services were interrupted during construction.

To facilitate the installation of the third floor AHU’s a part of the third floor wall was cut, and the units were split at the factory to fit through this cutout. The units were then reassembled in place inside the mechanical room. The electrical portion of this project included a service upgrade, new generator and fuel storage tank, and changes to the lighting controls in secure areas. Apollo’s scope included demolition and replacement of 5 air handling units, new supply and exhaust fans, new rooftop chiller and frame, new electric hot water boiler, 99 VAV units with new electronic controls, domestic water upgrade with installation of two new 110 degree tanks with storage tanks, new 150 degree tank with storage tank and domestic water booster system, and all associated piping.
